L.M HOSTEL: MY IDEAL HOSTEL

Lewis Memorial Hostel is one hostel that shaped my
life for serving God and which prepared me in different ways for my future
Ministry. The best part of Hostel life in L.M is its Vesper Service, Prayer
Service, Retreat Programme and Welcoming Freshers every year. Worship Life in
the hostel truly guided me to be a better Christian from far away from home,
where one is surrounded by different faith groups. Being located inside the
Mission Compound, where majority of the people residing are not just a mere Christians,
but a Ministers in different fields which gave me inspiration and felt secured.
Why I like L.M Hostel the most is because the campus itself is the headquarters
of CBCNEI and many Baptist Christians from different places of Northeast India
used to visit and also because of the availability of different Halls, people
used it for Seminars, Retreat, Meetings and other programme. So we always get
to see those Christian leaders coming and staying in our Campus. Staying here
in L.M also built a close relationship with the CBCNEI Staff and also the
Office Bearers like the General Secretary and others as they are often invited
for the Hostel programmes to speak among us which I treasured a lot!
Sunday is the most exciting day here in L.M. From
early morning till dark in the evening different Christian Fellowship comes
here to Worship. So we can’t escape from going to Worship and we are always blessed
through many programmes. The surrounding and the environment is such a
Christian life influenced that we never realized we are far away from home. It
is just the ideal place to stay and study, quenching both our physical and
spiritual thirst. The other attracting things which makes the Hostel more
valuable is that, just at the entrance of the Campus Gate there are two famous
Christian Book Stores where we can find all our needs for Christian life
journey. This really helps the students in growing spiritually and also
broadens our knowledge. It is under the good guidance of the Hostel
Superintendent Mr. Talimoa Jamir, the students are growing to be a Leader not
only in the Society but also in the Church.
As we celebrate the 100th years of its
existence, may our God continue to bless to be a Hostel which moulds every student
to be a Ministers of God and be a blessing for others. Long Live Lewis Memorial
Hostel.
